Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Hidaya handles information when you use the mobile app and this website.

Information you provide

You may provide reflection text, chat messages, onboarding responses, prayer or habit activity, support messages, and account information. You choose what to share with the app.

Information processed by the app

Hidaya may process app activity, device and diagnostics information, approximate locale or language settings, subscription entitlement status, and feature usage needed to operate, secure, debug, and improve the service.

AI features

When you use AI chat or reflection features, the content you submit may be sent to service providers that help generate responses. Avoid entering highly sensitive information. AI responses may be incomplete or incorrect and should not replace advice from a qualified scholar, professional, or trusted authority.

Location

If you grant location access, Hidaya uses your approximate device location to calculate accurate local prayer times for Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha. GPS coordinates are processed on your device, stored only on your device, and never sent to our servers. You can change or revoke this access at any time in your device settings, and you can pick a city manually inside the app instead of using device location. When you manually search for a city, your search text is sent to a geocoding provider to return matching city coordinates.

Prayer focus features

Hidaya can help you pause selected apps during prayer windows. On iOS, selected apps and categories are handled through Apple's Screen Time frameworks. On Android, this feature uses an Accessibility Service to detect when a selected app is opened during an active prayer window and return you to Hidaya. Hidaya does not read screen content, perform gestures, capture keystrokes, or use this feature to sell browsing or app usage data.

Purchases

Subscriptions and payments are handled by Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on where you installed the app. Hidaya uses RevenueCat to manage subscription entitlement status so the app can unlock paid features.

Photos and camera

If you choose to add a profile picture or share an image, Hidaya may ask for photo library or camera access. These permissions are optional and used only for the action you request.

Sharing

We may share information with service providers that operate hosting, analytics, customer support, payments, entitlement management, and AI processing for Hidaya. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users, or to secure the service.

Retention and deletion

We keep information for as long as needed to operate the app, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain security. You can request deletion by contacting support@usehidaya.com.

Children

Hidaya is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where required.
